Talent Acquisition Specialist

To support continued growth, we are seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to attract, engage and progress suitable adviser candidates for our nationwide advisor network.
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will build and manage a consistent recruitment pipeline for Ask Acorn, with a primary focus on Life & Pensions adviser roles. The role will attract, source and engage suitable candidates for adviser opportunities across the organisation.
This role supports the continued growth of Ask Acorn’s adviser network by identifying potential advisers, managing candidate engagement and supporting recruitment activity across agreed channels.
The role will provide structure, consistency and visibility across adviser recruitment by maintaining a clear pipeline of candidates by source, region, role type and recruitment stage.
This role is both operational and developmental. It will build on existing recruitment activity while helping to shape a more structured, proactive and measurable approach to adviser attraction. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to recruitment planning, candidate experience, employer positioning and channel development, working closely with Marketing, Sales, Branch Managers and HR.
Working within Marketing, the role will focus on candidate attraction, sourcing, campaign activity and candidate communication. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Marketing & Communications, Head of Sales, Branch Managers and HR to support an effective recruitment process.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing and Attraction
- Build and manage a candidate pipeline for Life & Pensions adviser roles, with support for General Insurance recruitment where required.
- Plan and deliver recruitment campaigns, candidate-facing messaging and recruitment materials within the agreed budget.
- Manage job board listings, recruitment events, trade fairs, and college and graduate routes, agreed with Marketing and the Head of Sales.
- Evaluate recruitment channels with Branch Managers and the Head of Sales to identify sources of suitable candidates.
- Contribute to the development of Ask Acorn’s adviser attraction strategy, including employer positioning, recruitment messaging, channel planning and candidate experience.
- Pipeline and CRM Management
- Keep an accurate, up-to-date list of candidates by source, region, role type and stage, using the CRM or an agreed interim tool.
- Maintain regular and professional contact with candidates while they are in the recruitment pipeline.
- Provide regular reporting to the Head of Marketing & Communications and Head of Sales on candidate pipeline, source effectiveness and regional recruitment activity.
- Coordinate timely candidate handovers to the relevant Branch Manager and track follow-up activity.
Working with Branch Managers, HR and Distribution
- Work closely with Branch Managers to understand regional recruitment needs and support the candidate handover process.
- Work with HR on recruitment administration, background checks, contracts and employment paperwork.
- Agree priorities, regional focus, target candidates and spend with the Head of Marketing & Communications and Head of Sales.
- Support regular recruitment review activity, including pipeline updates, candidate conversion and early recruitment outcomes.
Reporting and Improving
- Track and report on candidate pipeline, source quality, candidates reaching assessment, adviser start dates, early leavers and retention at 6 and 12 months.
- Contribute to regular reviews of recruitment activity, including progress during the first 6 and 12 months.
- Refine recruitment messaging and channel activity based on candidate quality and source effectiveness.
